Wild Stonecrop is the rare succulent native to Illinois, charming gardeners with adorable rosettes of thick, glossy leaves that blanket the ground like a lush, living carpet. The elegant, white flowers that cover the plant in spring have pointed petals and a star-like shape, attracting a wide array of bees,butterflies and other pollinators. Its creeping horizontal stems root at the nodes, slowly extending outward such that it functions well as a groundcover. It takes on a lovely fall color, which it maintains into the cold months, lending vitality and texture to the barren winter landscape. While it can tolerate full sun or full shade, Wild Stonecrop performs best in partial shade and dappled light. Drought-tolerant and resistant to grazing by deer and rabbits.
