Wild Petunia is an attractive, low-growing native that forms a dense, spreading mound of pubescent, dark green leaves and boasts trumpet-shaped flowers that attract a wide array of bees and butterflies. It flowers continually through the hot summer months, with each purple bloom lasting one day and withering as the sun sets, only for more blooms to open the following morning. An adaptable plant that grows easily in average to dry soils and will readily spread to form a ground cover when happy. Larval host plant of the Common Buckeye butterfly.
