Oligoneuron album-Upland White Goldenrod

Upland White Goldenrod is the rare goldenrod whose blooms are white rather than yellow. Long classified as an aster due in large part to its daisy-like ray and disk flowers, further scientific study necessitated the recent taxonomic shift. Its long-lasting, nectar rich blooms attract native pollinators to the garden for weeks or even months on end in summer and fall. The seedheads that result provide food for songbirds into the winter when resources are scarce. Low maintenance with high ecological impact, this compact plant is well-suited for dry, rocky soils and is especially tolerant of drought.
