Fragaria virginiana-Wild Strawberry

Wild Strawberry attracts a wide variety of wildlife, first with its delicate white flowers in spring and early summer and then with its small, flavorful berries that transition from green to deep red as they ripen. It spreads via runners to form a dense, low mat of glossy, trifoliate leaves that turn vibrant shades of red and bronze in the fall. Its spreading habit makes it an excellent choice for ground cover and erosion control. Supremely adaptable, thriving in almost all sun and soil conditions.
