Pale Purple Coneflower is one of the first sun-loving natives to bloom, providing nectar for butterflies and hummingbirds in early summer and attracting birds to its seed heads later in the season. It is a low-maintenance and drought tolerant plant that will thrive in any sunny location as long as the soil is well-drained. It grows up to 3ft tall and can be distinguished from its cousin the Purple Coneflower by its thinner, drooping petals and narrow leaves. It is used medicinally to boost the immune system and fight inflammation.
