Downy Wood Mint is an adaptable, clump-forming native that is more well behaved (read: less aggressive) than other members of the mint family. It’s tiny pink and purple flowers cluster in densely packed, tiered globules that rise in terminal spikes above dark green, velvety foliage and are pollinator magnets. The blooms persist for about one month in early summer and give way to seed heads that provide food for birds and small mammals. Its bracts, leaves and stems are covered in a tiny, soft hairs. Deer and rabbit-resistant
