Asclepias Incarnata-Rose Milkweed

Throughout the summer delicate clusters of small, fragrant pink blooms grace the tops of Rose Milkweed’s erect, branching stems.Well-known as the exclusive host plant for Monarch caterpillars, milkweed species are also visiteden masse by other pollinators, including Swallowtail butterflies and hummingbirds.Thisspecies’ long, slender seedpods remain on the plant later in the season than other milkweeds, providing sustained visual interest into the late fall and even winter. Its stunning fall foliage of yellow, orange, red and even purple colors further add to its allure. Also known as Swamp Milkweed, this is the milkweed you want for rain gardens, moist soil, or areas prone to flooding, though it can tolerate average soil conditions as well. Resistant to deer and rabbit grazing.
