Antennaria neglecta-Prairie Pussytoes

Prairie Pussytoes is so named for its delicate, button-like flower that resembles a cat’s paw and rises just above its velvety, silver-gray foliage. This low-growing native slowly spreads to form a dense mat that suppresses weeds and controls erosion, making it perfect as a soft ground cover that tolerates mowing and can be used in place of or within turf. It is highly drought-tolerant and resilient in challenging environments, perfect for dry sandy soils and rock gardens. Larval host for the American Painted Lady butterfly.
