Antennaria neglecta-Praire Pussytoes

Prairie Pussytoes is so named for its delicate, button-like flower that resembles a cat’s paw and rises just above its velvety, silver-gray foliage. This low-growing native slowly spreads to form a dense mat that suppresses weeds and controls erosion, making it perfect as a soft ground cover that tolerates mowing and can be used in place of or within the turf. It is highly drought tolerant and resilient in challenging environments, perfect for dry sandy soils and rock gardens. Larval host for the American Painted Lady butterfly.
