Amsonia illustris-Ozark Bluestar

Ozark Bluestar forms star-shaped light blue flowers that cluster tightly which can appear as a much larger bloom in April and May when pollinators are limited to a few food sources. Like the other Bluestars, Ozark is a great addition to average, medium, well-drained soils in full sun to part shade. Though it may need staking in shaded gardens. It has a thicker foliage then Threaded Leafed Blustar that is leathery and glossy. The shrub-like mound that forms has excellent fall interest as it turns a golden hue.
