Aromatic Aster earns its common name from the lovely herbal scent its foliage gives off when crushed. Its flowers, while not particularly fragrant themselves, dazzle the eye with their sheer volume, completely covering the plant and keeping it buzzing with pollinators throughout its long, late-season bloom time. Its daisy-like flowers boast purple petals and yellow centers that darken to a red-orange color after pollination. Bushy in shape, growing as wide as it is tall. Hardy, drought tolerant and resistant to deer and rabbit grazing.
