Scarlet Bee Balm calls to pollinators far and wide with large, brilliantly colored flowers that shelter valuable nectar inside tubular petals, especially attractive to hummingbirds. Its foliage plays host to several species of moth caterpillar and is beautifully aromatic, deterring deer and rabbit grazing while adding sensory appeal to the garden. This ecological powerhouse has a long bloom time, spreads via rhizome and readily self seeds. Deadhead to prolong bloom time further and to prevent self-seeding. Provide space for ample air circulation to prevent powdery mildew.
