White-tinged Sedge is an adaptable, tussock-forming sedge with narrow, arching foliage of a glossy, bright green. It spreads slowly via short rhizomes, but is relatively well-behaved and a lovely, understated companion plant to its wider-leaved woodland neighbors. In late spring it produces unique, scaly inflorescences that can range in color from green to reddish-brown to a purple so dark it's almost black, but always with a white margin. White-tinged Sedge is particularly well-suited for dry soil conditions and those especially difficult dry shade areas.
