Maidenhair Fern adds texture and elegance to shady gardens with its singular, delicate foliage. It is set apart from other ferns by its unique, fan-shaped fronds that flutter gently from thin, arching black stems. The vibrant green of its leaves contrast beautifully with the dark colored stems, providing layers of visual interest. This fern prefers moist soil and can go dormant during excessively dry conditions, to reemerge when suitable moisture returns. Spreads slowly via rhizomes to form a clump. Deer-resistant and generally easy to grow.
