Early Meadow Rue boasts small, subtle blooms that dangle from the tops of stalks early in the spring, lending an understated charm to the shade garden. The plant, though, is most recognized for its unique foliage: an abundance of delicate, lobed leaves that quiver slightly on long, thin stems and lend a unique, airy texture to the garden all through the growing season. Makes a good companion plant for spring ephemerals as it will branch out and fill bare spaces left behind when they go dormant.
